The film was nominated for eleven Academy Awards and won three.Valley of the Dolls (1967) was based on the 1966 novel of the same name written by Jacqueline Susann and stars Patty Duke, Sharon Tate, Lee Grant, and a small appearance by an uncredited Richard Dreyfuss.Two Minute Warning (1976) starred Charlton Heston, Beauu Bridges, Gena Rowlands, and Jack Klugman in this suspense and action film that was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Film Editing. The plot surrounds an unknown sniper who has positioned himself inside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum prior to an event similar to the Super Bowl and the suspense surrounding his take down before melee ensues.Beverly Hills Cop (1984) is the movie that propelled Eddie Murphy to international stardom for his action-drama role as Detroit police officer Axel Foley who lands squarely in Beverly Hills to become an LA crook-catcher. The movie won the People’s Choice Award for favorite Motion Picture and was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture and contains a soundtrack that won a Grammy Award for Best Album or Original Score Written for a Motion Picture and contains contributors such as Patti LaBelle, Glenn Frey, and the Pointer Sisters.The Big Lebowski (1998) is a cult classic starring Jeff Bridges as The Dude who gets caught squarely in a case of mistaken identity. Supported by John Goodman as The Dude’s friend Wallter Sobchak and also starring Steve Buscemi, Philip Symour Hoffman, Julianne Moore, John Turturro and Tara Reid, the film follows The Dude as he attempts a one-time criminal “job” with a high payoff while trying to manage the chaos around him.
