LA After Dark

As stars and celebrities abound, Los Angeles has one of the world’s best nightlife scenes with clubs, bars and lounges on every corner. Whether you’re looking for an unforgettable night or a relaxing one with cocktails, there is plenty to do in this city and no trip would be complete without a taste of the nightlife culture. For an upscale night of dinner and dancing, the Aqua Restaurant and Lounge in Beverly Hills has both the trendiness that is characteristic of the area, along with late night fun, dancing and drinks. Upstairs at Cinch is another popular stop, located on Wilshire Blvd. The sleek and trendy dcor and atmosphere may suggest otherwise, but unlike many of LA’s nightclubs, you don’t have to be a celebrity to get in.You may not be a star, but why not pretend? Check out one of LA’s karaoke bars such as Amagi (currently closed), which transforms from a Japanese restaurant by day to a lively scene of off-key performances, aided by a few drinks each night. We can’t talk about LA nightlife without mentioning a beach bar or two. Located on the Pacific Coast Highway, Blue Lounge attracts large crowds from the city including a mix of celebrities. With its breathtaking scenery and nightly DJs, this restaurant lounge is a popular stop in Malibu with a real taste of what life on the West Coast is really like.Don’t worry, if you don’t consider yourself a dancer and prefer a lower key atmosphere there are plenty of wine bars for a more sedate evening. 326 Bar has its home in the Original Farmers Market and offers an impressive list of wine and beer, domestic and international. A full menu, a weekly changing wine list, and a classy yet homey setting make Lou on Vine Street a favorite that you’ll want to visit again and again.
